About Julie
Forget Me Not Celebrant
Holding your story with care, and helping you plan a farewell that feels right
Why Julie?
Choosing a funeral celebrant is a deeply personal decision. At a time when emotions are raw and families are navigating unfamiliar territory, trust matters above everything else. My role is to provide calm, clarity, and reassurance while helping you honour the life of someone you love.
My name is Julie Farmer, and I am the celebrant behind Forget Me Not Celebrant. I work with families and funeral directors to create personalised funeral services that are thoughtful, respectful, and true to the person being remembered. I believe that every life has a story worth telling, and every farewell deserves care, dignity, and attention to detail.
My Approach as a Funeral Celebrant
Being a funeral celebrant is not about performance. It is about listening. When I meet with a family, my first priority is to understand who their loved one really was. Not just the milestones or dates, but the everyday details that made them unique. The habits, the humour, the values, and the relationships that shaped their life.
I take time to listen carefully, ask gentle questions, and gather the information needed to write a service that feels personal and accurate. I believe a personalised funeral service should reflect the whole person, not a version edited to fit tradition or expectation. Families often tell me they feel relieved once we have spoken. That is important to me. My role is to remove uncertainty, not add to it.
Supporting Families Through One of Life’s Hardest Moments
Grief affects everyone differently. There is no right way to feel, and no fixed timeline. What families often need most is someone steady who can guide them through decisions without pressure. I work closely with families to create funeral services that feel right for them. Whether that means something traditional, quiet, joyful, or reflective, my role is to ensure the service honours the person who has died while supporting those who remain.
This includes writing and delivering funeral eulogies, advising on music and readings, and helping families structure a service that flows calmly and respectfully. I understand that small details matter. I take preparation seriously so that families can focus on remembering their loved one rather than worrying about logistics.
Working With Funeral Directors
I value strong professional relationships with funeral directors. A well-run funeral service depends on trust, communication, and reliability. Funeral directors who work with me know that I prepare thoroughly, communicate clearly, and respect the structure of the day. I work collaboratively to ensure the service runs smoothly and reflects the standards families expect. My approach supports funeral directors as well as families. When everyone involved understands their role and works together, the result is a service that feels calm, dignified, and well considered.
Planning Ahead and Writing Your Own Funeral Service
Alongside supporting families at the time of need, I also work with individuals who wish to plan ahead. Writing your own funeral service can be an empowering and thoughtful way to ease the burden on your loved ones. This process allows you to choose the words, music, and messages that matter to you, while ensuring your family has clear guidance when the time comes. I offer gentle, structured support to help you capture your story in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful. Planning ahead is not about being morbid. It is about care, clarity, and kindness towards the people you love.
Why Forget Me Not Celebrant
The name Forget Me Not reflects what matters most to me in this work. It represents remembrance, respect, and the importance of holding each life carefully. I am committed to providing a professional, compassionate service that families and funeral directors can rely on. I believe funerals should feel honest, personal, and grounded, not rushed or impersonal. Every service I write is treated with the seriousness it deserves. Every family I work with is given my full attention.
